Here is times, days and songs for each dance for winter concert!

Region concert

Hello everyone! So as you know Tuesday is going to be a busy day! So here is everything you need to know to survive!

Costumes
Hip hop: Warm ups (leggings instead of sweats)

Contemporary/ Matts: black leggings/ tan top. Boys: black t-shirts and black pants

Region: black dresses, Boys: tan pants and black tank
Boys: you need black under armour shorts for all dances

Hair and makeup.
We are doing a French braid into a straight ponytail. The ponytail needs to be about in the middle of your head.
You need fake eyelashes and red lipstick other than that normal make up!

Schedule
Here is just a layout of the day if you haven't read the email from Chelsea!

          715-745: Run/clean Region piece in Auditorium in costume ( boys she will bring yours girls you need to bring your dresses and shorts)
745-830am: Rest of Dance Co. Arrive in Auditorium.  Run all dances in Costume. Bring warm ups/sneakers/black tank or t-shirt/leggings.

830-9am: Turn in ticket money to finance office.

230-3:30pm: Meet in auditorium! Be ready to tech/run each piece.

330-5pm: Break (Officers need to stay and Welcome other schools and direct them to their dressing room/auditorium/aux gym/dance studio).

5pm: Roll Call in Girls Aux Gym.  Go out of your way to make friends with the other schools and welcome them!

5pm: Stacey & Vanessa tables

530-645pm: Master Class in Aux gym.  Wear WDC or Westlake Shirt/Dance Shorts/pants.

645-730pm: Quickly get ready! You are the first number!

730pm: Show starts!!! Hip Hop is the opener! 

930pm-Everyone must stay for final bow/clean up! Do not leave until you have been excused by Chelsea
Please stay professional and friendly , keep in mind all the stuff you need to bring, ( dance clothes, performance things, water, food, money from tickets and extra tickets)  Love you all and be prepared!

Dance Camp Time!

Hello everyone!
This will be a way of communication for big long posts such as this! We have things every day that will need to be brought so think of this as a packing list:)

Monday- Girls bring Heels to dance in. (Try a pair on and move around in them as if your dancing, if your comfortable go ahead and bring them.) If worse comes to worse you can go barefoot. Everybody needs sneakers (NOT CONVERSE but running shoes), and PACK A LUNCH! It is only a 30 min break and you will have to back in the studio. Make sure to bring lots of water and snacks. Call time @8am. SHARP

Tuesday-Snacks and Sneakers: NO CONVERSE.

Wednesday- Sneakers, snacks and Lunch. Call time @8am.

Thursday- Sneakers, snacks and Lunch. Call time @7am. We will have pictures this day and I will post later what we are doing for hair and outfits.

Friday- Sneakers, Snacks, Lunch. Call time @8am.
At 7pm we will be having our social at the Bascoms house, having s'mores and fun!

Saturday- Sneakers, Snacks and Lunch. Call time @8am. Music video filming will be this day and later will be a post about outfits.

Monday- Snacks and Sneakers.

Each day you need to be ON TIME! We will be taking role at 8 o'clock precisely!! Remember our rules at all times during camp.
       -Respect each other, yourself, and the teachers!
       -PDA, sarcasm, and crude behavior will not be tolerated!
This week will push you to your limits! Make sure to go to bed early and drink lots of water! You need to give 100% physically, mentally and emotionally. Please try to stay positive! We only have a week to finish and clean these dances!
Remember Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much!

Tech Rehearsal 4/21

To The Amazing Westlake Dance Company-

We've got a big day coming up tomorrow so everyone needs to make sure they get a good night's rest so we aren't at each other's throats by the end of the evening. :-)

Dress rehearsal is starting at 2:30 sharp. We will go until around 7 pm. BRING SNACKS. Don't plan on a dinner break. Have something small you can snack on in between dances. Your hair needs to be done. You don't have to have your makeup done. Full costumes.

So.

COSTUMES:
BASKETS are DUE from everyone tomorrow morning at 7:15! Ladies, look over your dances and see what you'll need. I'm bringing a nude top and bottom, and then wearing a black tank top, black shorts, and black leggings over those. Make sure you have each of those pieces. NO BRA STRAPS.
Here is the list again. Go through, and if it is not on the hangers already at school, then you are responsible to bring it for tomorrow.

Girls- Yellow, Blue, White or Red Dress Underclothes
Boys- Black Joggers, Red Shirt

Trio:
Black Shorts, Flannel Shirt

Holly: Girls: underclothes for white  dresses
Cello:
Girls- Tan Bra/Shorts, Tan Dress
Boys- Tan Joggers, Black Wife Beaters

Really Real:
Black, White, Grey, Sneakers.  

Church:
Girls- Church dress or skirt, Cardigan Sweater
Boys- Dress shirt, Dress Pants, Tie/Bow tie, Sneakers, Vest/Hat/Suspenders.
AGAIN: THIS IS ALL TO BE BROUGHT IN A LAUNDRY BASKET AT 7:15 AM TOMORROW. 

HAIR: Girls: Parted on either side, twists on both sides all the way down to a low bun. Make sure it is PINNED tightly. Also,  you MUST have a hair net to hold in those gorgeous locks. No exceptions. Your buns needs to be a twisty flat one, not those kind that stick far out.

Choreographers you need to be PREPARED. You will only have about 15 minutes to get all three lighting cues set and to run your piece with them. Have them ready!! 


DANCERS: In order for tomorrow to run smoothly, we need absolute positivity, responsibility, respect, and hard work. Keep yourself hydrated, fed, and happy. Your mom won't be there! Everyone needs to be at the top of their game! Any questions, as always, ask me!

4/20-4/24

Hello my dear dance company,

Here are just a few items of business that we need to take care of this week!

SENIORS: We need a short bio about you for our concert. Please include your name, officer position if applicable, how long you've been with the company, what your plans are after high school, and anything else you would like the audience to know about you. Email those DUE TUESDAY to Chelsea at cbudge@alpinedistrict.org. Any questions, you can ask me.

CHOREOGRAPHERS: You need to decide on your lighting cues for our full dress and tech on Tuesday. You may have three lighting cues. Please know what time they are in your music and what color gels you would like to be displayed on the cyc. If you want the black curtain, we need to know that as well. Please have this written down and ready to go.

EVERYONE: I need everyone's favorite memory from WDC this year written out and emailed to me DUE FRIDAY. This is just a little thing to go next to your action shot on the display table at the concert. Please keep it to a couple of sentences. :) My email is lexie1221@gmail.com
Example:

"This is Lexie Treu. She is a senior this year on WDC. Her favorite memory is spending over an hour writing this dang blog post for her company. She loves writing these and prays that her company reads them"  ;)

I still need $6 from Abbie Thornley, Holly, Alli, and Michael.
Also, if you didn't attend our social please come talk to me because there is something we need you to do. :)

STILL EVERYONE: SECRET BUDDIES

Our theme for these is taking care of the mind, body, and soul. How adorable is that?

Chelsea has a list of who has who so make sure you take this seriously!! NO excuses. Here are the themes for the days.

4/27 MENTAL MONDAY- mad libs, sudoku, word searches, puzzles, crosswords etc.

4/28 TUMMY TUESDAY- Snacks and drinks and treats to keep people happy, healthy, and hydrated through our full dress rehearsal.

4/29 WARM HEARTED WEDNESDAY- Care package: include things like bandaids, fuzzy socks, treats, lotions, anything to help your buddy pamper themselves for CONCERT DAY.

4/30 THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY- Write your secret buddy a nice note wishing them good luck and encouraging them for the concert. Also, bring a single flower for them, or a treat for the boys, to say good luck. At call time you will give them their note and flower and that's when they will find out it is you.

***THIS is so important!! It helps us to build unity as a company. Everyone deserves to be taken care of. You MUST give them something EACH day. Not everything on the last day. No exceptions. It is extremely rude and sad if someone doesn't receive a gift, so don't let that happen. If you need help with this for whatever reason, please call me and I will be more than happy to help.

Friday morning after the concert we will be watching movies in Dance Co. We wanted to see if anyone's parents would be willing to do breakfast for that. So ask your parents if any of them would want to make pancakes or bring breakfast at 7:45.
